Ilissa is the owner of Bean Family Wellness as well as a published photographer specializing in Professional Maternity, Birth, Baby, Children, and Families in Winnipeg and Rural Manitoba since 2013. Ilissa offers On-Location Sessions and Lifestyle Documentary Sessions. Imagery by Bean no longer offers Studio Photography Sessions.
Each session offers you the opportunity to create a session that captures your special memories. Whether you are envisioning portraits for sharing with family and friends, beautiful albums to document your experiences, or spectacular pieces of wall art to pass on to generations to come, .... the opportunities are endless. Custom products such as Celebration Cards, Specialty Gifts, DVD Slideshows, and more are also available. Ilissa has been working with the same professional print lab since 2013 and only offers products which she loves herself and is proud to offer to other families.
What to expect...Each Session includes pre-session consultation by email or telephone to discuss and plan your session details, your customized photography session, as well as a online Gallery Reveal and Ordering Session to showcase your images and choose options to customize your family’s session. Meet Ilissa
“As a mother, I understand how fast time goes by and how important it is to capture and preserve your memories - whether it is of your pregnancy, your birth, the early days after your new baby is born, or every day moments - those are the times that you will want to remember forever!
Seeing the world through a lens, working with families, babies, children, and being active in the birth community is truly where I am meant to be. Being with families during all those special moments, and capturing those memories them is such an honour!”
Ilissa's work has been featured in Midwifery Today, Pathways to Family Wellness, Holistic Parenting, and Natural Pregnancy Magazine.
Ilissa has been working with families in Manitoba as a photographer since early 2013. Ilissa is also a trained doula and childbirth educator, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Ecology (concentration in Family Social Sciences) from the University of Manitoba. Her advanced experience and training can leave you feeling assured that she will provide the utmost care when working with your baby, children and family during your session.
Ilissa is the founder for The Art of Breastmilk Project, a project investigating the many realities of parents feeding their babies breastmilk. In her spare time, she is also a volunteer for The Tiny Footprints Project, working with families with have a premature baby in the NICU (Winnipeg).
